Westford Man Running in Falmouth Road Race on Behalf of Neighbors

Among the 11,000 runners expected this Sunday at the 7-mile New Balance Falmouth Road Race is Westford’s Aubrey Cannusico, who is running on behalf of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute — and on behalf of his Westford friends and neighbors, Colby Schofield and Mike Dunn. Here is a letter Cannusico sent to his friends and family:

Next Sunday, August 11th, my brother Mike and I will run the Falmouth Road Race in support of Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

The race will be fun and challenging. But that’s not our priority. Our priority, with your help, is to raise funds for important research at Dana Farber.  We all know too many people who have been impacted by cancer.  We are raising funds in honor of my friends and neighbors, Colby Schofield and Mike Dunn, both of whom were diagnosed with cancer within the past 15 months. They are both amazing individuals with fantastic families.  Colby is a beautiful, energetic high school student and athlete who my kids adore. Mike is a wonderful father, husband, brother, son and friend who can always make you smile and is an all-around great person.
