Dr. Brent P. Forester joins Bridges by EPOCH at Westford team

Dr. Bent P. Forester has joined the team at Bridges by EPOCH at Westford as consulting geriatric psychiatrist. In this role, Dr. Forester will consult with Westford’s wellness department and caregiving team on individual residents’ needs. He will meet with residents each month on a Saturday to allow family members to attend consultations. Additionally, he will facilitate educational programs and work alongside residents’ primary care physicians to provide the best possible care.

Dr. Forester specializes in late life depression, geriatric bipolar disorder, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia; he has led numerous studies and published many articles on these subjects. He is currently the Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Mood Disorders Research Program and the Site Director of the Harvard Medical School Psychiatry Clerkship at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA. He is also an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

A renowned psychiatrist with more than 20 years’ experience consulting at long-term care communities, Dr. Forester makes an excellent addition to the Bridges team and will help the staff continue to provide Bridges residents with exceptional care.

Bridges by EPOCH at Westford includes 48 apartments to meet the increased needs of individuals with memory impairment in a supportive and structured residential environment. It is the second freestanding memory care community of its kind in the area. EPOCH opened a Bridges community in Hingham in June 2012.
