I pass through the center because it happens to lie in the path of my trip to and from work. Frankly, I don't care. I think the rotary idea is a good one worth persuing. If the cannon with the wrong size balls has to go, so be it. The cost of progress.

I do enjoy eating fresh veggies. If they don't come from my wife's garden, we'll buy them from a local farm stand not associated with Westford's FM. I would rather give the guy who actually has to pay for his retail space than the freeloaders who get the common for nothing. THAT makes me feel good about my purchase and helps my mood too.

Mafia dons don't go to their lawyers to settle their claims.

The only threat is to the safety of the people going to the FM and the threat of being stuck in traffic for an additional 20 minutes for those just trying to get home.

I'm for protecting the 2nd amendment as our founding fathers intended ("pro-gun" is such an anti gun term) but fail to see how that applies to the discussion.

Anastasia, I like to spend my time as I see fit. Not as others think I could better use it. And I do not conduct phone calls while driving. By the time I reach Westford after my 10 hour day at work, all I want to do is get home and spend time with my wife. Not sit in yet another line of traffic that occurs every week because the FM organizers feel their endeavor is more important than anything anybody else has going on. It would be nice if the FM organizers would put just a little efort into finding another venue that is not as disruptive as the common. But they apparently are far to self indulgent and selfish to pause long enough to consider the inconvenience they are putting hundreds of people through who are just trying to get home after work each Tuesday. They would much rather toss out useless suggestions about how commuters trying to get home can kill the 15 to 20 minutes it will take to get from 495 through the center of town. Personaly, I will not go to Westford's FM just because of the organizers' lack of consideration toward others. Like minded people like you can go support them if you like. But for me, there are plenty of other places to buy fresh fruits and veggies.

Great! Hundreds of people wasting hundreds of hours of otherwise constructive time sitting in stalled traffic that stretches from the common to rt. 495 just so a few people can buy fresh veggies and wine in bucolic Westford center. To add insult to injury, those same people sitting in traffic will likely have to help pay for the police detail which does nothing to aleiviate the traffic problem while making sure every pedestrian approaching a crosswalk doesn't have to wait more than 10 seconds to step off the curb. Sounds fair to me!

I can understand not being able to secure every mall in the country on black Friday. But somebody was successful in bombing the finish line of one of the most prestegious sporting events in the country. There has to be a lesson learned from this besides making sure everybody gets patted down next year. It seems that there is a security hole that needs to be plugged.

Things are tough for everybody. The union workers who think tax payers should fund some kind of immunity for them should think back to what they did in the ballot booth to get Obama a second term. You reap what you sow. Elect someone who knows how to balance a checkbook, can present a balanced budget and doesn't punish success, regardless of party affiliation, and maybe the taxpayers will do a little better.

That area of RT110 no longer has any of the rural character that many people wanted to maintain. That horse has left the barn. Rather than making motorists rubber-neck towards each plaza to try to locate the store they are looking for, the signs should be at the road large enough for drivers to see far enough in advance in order to safely negotiate the traffic in order to get where they want to go. Clingling to some lost cause by trying to limit the number and size of signage is a safety hazard for motorists and pedestrians. Just make sure the signs do not obstruct the view of the drivers. Part of the traffice problem there is that people unfamiliar with the area don't know where anything is. Larger and clearly visible signs at the road would go a long way in aleviating the congestion and safety problems caused by people unsure of where to go and what lane to get in, etc.

So, if a person actually need something that can pull, push and haul, I guess, by your definition, that person is unpatriotic. You'll be singing a different tune when I'm hooking a chain to my truck to pull your econobox out of a ditch because you just had to get to owrk on a snowy day (if you do any work at all).

Bears have long memories and will stay away from areas where they have had a negative experience. If you live in an area where one has been sited or where one may wander towards your home, I would consider keeping one of those marine air horns in a can handy. A good blast in the direction of the bear will be uncomfortable for him yet harmless. He will likely not return to your neighborhood. The worst thing you can do for the bear is leave anything out that may encourage him to return. Whenever wildlife and humans collide, the wildlife suffers the consequences. Better to turn the bear away.

The so-called freinds of east boston camps want to raffle off naming rights to one or more of the trails in Westford Woods. I heard the bidding starts at $1000. Maybe a "McKay's Hardware Trail" or an "Ernie Boch West Trail". For them to harp on 70 years of tradition to justify holding on to the EBC name is a bit hypocritical on their part.

I would rather see the sign reflect Westford ownership and unrestricted access so there will be no confusion to people who are new to Westford.
