Replywhat a bunch of whiney people. It's a Westford Tradition that has been passed through the ages, Get over it. It's Fun, It means nothing, why not just leave it alone? Just like the Prom queen It's a Tradition.
Geessh, politically correctness gets a little old sometimes. Have fun and lighten UP.

ReplyI didn't say every kid with 'cool wheels' was an issue. My point was, most cars in the student parking lot are newer or high end.

Replywhere ever there are kids and an affluent town there will be some drug usage. I remember when my daughter was a freshmen at WA back in 2001, there was a parent lecture one night and a WPD officer spoke and said that Westford Academy had a larger drug issue that Lowell High. The reasoning was Westford was more affluent and kids didn't have to work for their spending $. They got allowances. Where the income level in Lowell was lower per household and the kids had to work and there fore had a better appreciation for the $. Look at the WA student Parking lot and tell me those kids are affording those cars by themselves. It's the parents causing the issues. Not making johnny or jill work and appreciate the $. Thinking they are entitled. Now it's not the way in ALL instances... But look around and open your eyes.

ReplyApparently those of us who have to work, must pay ( in more ways than one ) for those who rather have free range eggs and think Market Basket Veggies would be blasphemy on their table. There is no way to get through the center on a Tuesday night and now the back roads are backed up with people trying to avoid the common. Move the friggin Farmers Market, 'cause when some brat runs out into traffic and gets hit, or someone with the patience of a typical Westford driver pile drives the side of someone car turning from Main St to Boston Rd and the town is sued, then we'll ask if it's worth it. Oh and Rich. Try living in Kings Pine ( Crown, Castle, Kings Pine, etc) on any day. My parents are hostages to their house during rush hour.

I have a father that anyone would be proud to have. He worked hard when he was younger to make sure his family had what we needed. We weren't rich by $ standards, but we had a good family core. Family means a lot to my father, both the immediate and the extended. Then there is dad outside of the family.. or should I say his extended family, because everyone is. From the friends at Dunkin Donuts at 9:30 every morning, to his military friends, his love for his native american heritage and those friends, his church and the missions he chaperones the teenagers to Maine every year to help the under privileged. There is not a person my dad meets that doesn't like him. If you want to meet my dad... head to Dunkin Donuts on 110 in Westford at 9:30am EVERY DAY or at the Westford Academy Christmas Bazaar, he sells hand carved Ducks... Oh did I tell you he loves to carve... He has taught me a lot on how to be a man and how to treat people.
