Lewin Wins Only Contested Race in Low Turnout Election

3.2 percent of registered voters in town showed up, with Matt Lewin winning the only contested race.

FULL VOTING RESULTS: Selectmen Wormell, Ross Re-elected

Selectmen Valerie Wormell and Kelly Ross were re-elected, as were School Committee members David Keele and Erika Kohl.

There were no surprises in today's election, with Selectmen Valerie Wormell and Kelly Ross winning back their seats in an uncontested race. All seven races in the election, in fact, were uncontested. Unofficial turnout was 3.2 percent, down from 4.4 percent in last year's election. Charts of unofficial vote totals:

Westford Election Forum Tonight

There are seven races; all are uncontested.

A candidates' forum for a host of municipal and school boards and committees wil be held tonight from 7-9 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Library. The Westford League of Women is organizing the forum. Candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves and answer questions from the audience. There are seven races; all are uncontested.

Wormell Announces Re-Election Bid for Selectmen

The selectmen race is uncontested.

Selectman Valerie Wormell recently announced her re-election bid. Wormell and fellow Selectman Kelly Ross are both running unopposed for re-election to their posts. Wormell said she isn't taking anything for granted, however. She submitted this announcement: "Today, I announce my candidacy for re-election to the Westford Board of Selectmen. Your past support means a great deal to me and I am asking for your vote on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. I would like to continue bringing my passion for public service to our Town. Westford is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family due in large part to its volunteers and effective government. I wish to rededicate my energies to serving Westford’s residents.
