School Resource Officer Program Coming to Westford Academy

In the light of last week's tragedy in Connecticut, the Westford School Committee concludes their discussion on bringing a School Resource Officer to Westford Academy.

Police Asking for Vigilance After Nab Lake CC Break-in

An unknown individual broke into the Nabnasset Country Club early on Tuesday morning.

Westford Police are asking local residents to remain vigilant following a break-in at the Nabnasset Lake Country Club's pro shop just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The door to the pro shop needed replacement after the forced entry, as well. The door had been damaged during an earlier incident, where Bedsaul indicated cash within the cash register drawer that had been taken was stolen, leading him to believe the same person was involved in both crimes. No other items were reported missing. Anyone with more information on the incident is being asked by Westford Police to call …

The Westford Fire Department acted quickly on Thursday to put out a fire at Westford Earth Materials near the corner of Powers and Concord Road. According to Fire Department officials, the fire was spotted at approximately 2:50 p.m., and three emergency vehicles were on the scene rapidly to address what was described as an approximately 75 by 100 foot blaze consisting of brush and other materials near the road on the Westford Earth Materials site. Due to smoke limiting visibility for drivers near the Concord and Powers Road intersection, Littleton and Westford Police Officials closed Powers Road from Concord Road to Route 119 at approximately 3:00 p.m., re-opening the road within about ten minutes when the fire had been extinguished. …
