What's Up This Week in Westford Local Politics?

Checking in on the Planning Board, School Committee and Board of Selectmen.

  Here's a look at what's going on and what's been happening lately in Westford local government. More information is available on the Town of Westford website. School Committee The School Committee will adjourn at the Millennium Building on Monday night for a meeting highlighted by proposals from principals from Westford's Middle Schools and Westford Academy principal James Antonelli. Board of Selectmen On Tuesday, the Board of Selectmen will reorganize and take one last look at the results of Fall Town Meeting for assessing how to move forward. Planning Board The Planning Board will meet in the Police Training Room instead of their normal location at the Town Hall Conference Room to look over a few more sign applications for stores at …

This Week in Westford Local Government: Aug. 13

A round up of what's going on with local municipal boards in town.

  Board of Health There will be a discussion 7 p.m. tonight at Town Hall on the recent mosquito sprayings and the water supply at Vinebrook Estates among other topics. School Committee Tonight's meeting at the Millennium Building is scheduled for just over 100 minutes, and the major topics on the agenda appear to be updates on substance abuse in town, enrollment, the new Parent Portal, religious holidays on the school calendar, school enrollment, and administration turnover at Westford Academy. Selectmen The Selectmen will have a number of issues on the docket for Tuesday, including updates on the transfer of the Vose Parcel and the status of the old Westford Anodizing Plant on North Main Street.

Here's a quick look into what's going on in Westford politics and government for the week of Aug. 6.

  Welcome to August, Westford! Here's a quick rundown on some things going on in local government and politics.   Planning Board A decision will likely be made on Monday night's Planning Board meeting over the ongoing debate over freestanding entrance signs at Cornerstone Square,which was closed to public discussion at the last Planning Board meeting in July. The meeting also holds another discussion over a freestanding sign request for Kindercare on Carlisle Road and sign requests from three businesses within Cornerstone Square itself (Market Basket, Family Eye Care Center, Five Guys). Selectmen to Discuss Keno at the Willows

The topic of Keno is one of several topics on the Selectmen's agenda this Tuesday night.

  The Westford Board of Selectmen are slated to discuss allowing Keno at Willows Pizza in Nabnasset (pictured) this Tuesday, potentially making it the first restaurant in Westford to have the game. Run by the Massachusetts State Lottery, Keno can currently be found in Westford at Spinner's Market, the Franco-American Club, Healy Post #159 in Graniteville, the Fletcher Social and Athletic Club, Nabnasset Lake Country Club, Tedeschi's on Main Street and in Nabnasset, and Towne Convenience on Groton Road. Keno-To-Go is also available at Cumberland Farms, Mobil-on-the-Run, Nab's One Stop Shop, Rapid Refill, Gulf, and Westford Market and Liquors.
