Yet another business at Cornerstone opens its doors as Panera Bread is now open to the public.
Local officials and other business officials were on hand to christen Westford's new Panera Bread location just off Boston Road at Cornerstone Square.

More buildings and more tenants are coming to shopping center located just off 495 in the heart of Westford's commercially zoned area.
Westford Planning Board chairman Mike Green told Cornerstone Square representatives on Monday that he appreciated the fact that their development was "a moving target," but the target has been slowly coming into focus over the past few weeks. Spokespeople with the development announced earlier this week that it has reached 80 percent tenancy, with a grand opening scheduled for November. “The leasing interest has been incredible ever since the project was first announced,” said Dusty Burke, President & CEO of American Commercial Real Estate and leasing broker for Cornerstone Square . “Our tenants recognize the value of being a part of well-located, stylishly designed retail and medical office center, and want to be part of the excitement …

Welcome to "You Asked, Patch Answers."
Hello Westford, and welcome to our latest edition of "You Asked, Patch Answers." Each week we attempt to answer a question from our readers, and today's question refers to those two buildings going up along Boston Road at the future Cornerstone Plaza. More specifically, the reader asked what they were going to be once finished. The answer? The one next to Mobil on the Run is going to be a Panera Bread, and the one near 495 is a Burton's Grill. At the last Planning Board meeting, Panera petitioned for a sign variance that would bring signage pointing toward the Mobil and Boston Road. The issue was separate, yet conjoined with a larger sign debate earlier in the evening.
While the debate on signage at the entranceways of Cornerstone Square had to be postponed by the Planning Board, the debate reverberated into a later agenda item on signs for Panera Bread, reducing their number of signs they received from three to two. This came despite the fact that Westford town planner Chris Kluchman indicated to the board that the freestanding entranceway debate couldn’t be attached to the following discussion relating to signs requested by Panera. If the entranceway signs had been approved, the third sign on the northern wall of the building would have been meaningless, allowing larger signs on the eastern and southern parts of the building.
