We've seen the beginning of it, what's your thoughts on what's next?
The other day a reader commetned to Patch via e-mail about those barrels (pictured) on Route 110 Eastbound just before Bank of America, and don't worry, they're going away. We gave you advance warning about the traffic there over the next two years, and we'll continue to attempt to obtain updates from Mass DOT and the Westford Highway Department this over the next few months so you can avoid the worst of the traffic. However, we want to get your take. What do you expect from Minot's Corner over the next two years of construction? What have you seen so far? Should road widening have come even earlier? Are you seeking alternate routes to avoid Minot's Corner yet? If so, just during rush hour or at other times of the day? Let us know your …

The move fulfills the goal of Article 19 at Fall Town Meeting, which sought to petition the legislature for an additional liquor license specifically for Cornerstone Square. Opponents have said during the debate that four package stores almost directly on Minot's Corner will harm all of the stores and cause safety issues, among other concerns. However, the question isn’t about traffic at the corner of Littleton, Boston and Carlisle Roads, but who exactly Minot was. During Monday night's Planning Board meeting, an overview was given of certain aspects of Minot's Corner ranging from traffic projections to improvement plans.
Following the continuing Cornerstone sign discussion, the Westford Planning Board took a look at another issue impacting Minot's Corner: Minot's Corner itself. The intersection, which brings together Boston, Carlisle and Littleton Road, will be undergoing improvements beginning next year that will continue until 2014 according to a presentation given during the meeting. Westford Patch will provide more information on improvements to the crucial intersection over the upcoming months, and readers can get up to the minute traffic information there and at other parts of town by going to westford.patch.com/traffic. The presentation can be seen in its entirety on the Westford CAT website.

I find the traffic worse during lunch and rush hours. I avoid the area completely now. Westford used to be small town style with apple orchards, trees, and fields. I feel the town is losing its character and I avoid the area not just because of traffic but because I feel like the city found us and took us over. I take back roads to hold on to my denial.   more ›
