Westford Fire Department log for the week of March 17 to 25, 2013
Monday, March 18, 10:51 p.m. - There was a call for a fire at the 4H Fairgrounds on South Chelmsford Road. After further investigation, it was just a campfire that was slowly dying out on its own. Tuesday, March 19, 2:48 p.m. - A 32-year-old man was extracted from a van with the Jaws of Life after it made contact with a town DPW vehicle near the intersection of Cold Spring Road and Depot Street. First responders were on the scene for approximately 20 minutes and the man was treated on the scene before being sent to Lowell General Hospital. The following are calls from the Westford Fire Department for the Week of March 3 to 9. March 5, 4:31 a.m. - A resident on Newport Drive detected carbon monoxide, but none was found after an investigation. March 7, 3:41 p.m. - Firefighters responded to a flash fire on Hearthstone Road. The incident occurred in a 2 1/2 story wood frame house, with the resident noticing the fire after smelling gas from a line that had been accidentally broken by a contractor. The fire spread in the joists in between the floors of the house and was extinguished before firefighters arrived on the scene. Monday, Nov. 19 7:03 p.m. - First responders were required to help with injuries from an accidents just north of Exit 32 on 495 Northbound, followed six minutes later by another accident just south of Exit 32 on 495 Northbound. Tuesday, Nov. 20 10:28 a.m. - A motor vehicle crash was reported near the intersection of Boston Road and 495. No transport was required for injured parties on the scene. Wednesday, Nov. 21 6:05 p.m. - A medical emergency was reported at Nashoba Valley Technical High School. Thursday, Nov. 22 8:20 p.m. - Smoke was reported in a building on Pine Ridge Road. Friday, Nov. 23 1:56 p.m. - A medical emergency was reported at the Cornerstone Square Market Basket.

Westford Fire Department log excerpts for the week of Oct. 14 to 20.
Sunday, Oct. 14 2:35 a.m. - Firefighters investigated the Westford Police Department. 3:04 p.m. - Paramedics responded to Westford Academy for a medical emergency. Injured parties were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. It was the first of 22 medical emergencies reported in town during the week. Monday, Oct. 15 6:02 p.m. - Injuries were reported from a motor vehicle crash on 495 Southbound. Paramedics were dispatched from the scene to Emerson Hospital. Saturday, Oct. 20 2:36 a.m. - A fire alarm went off at the Haystack Observatory.

Sunday, Sept. 16 2:55 p.m. - Six medical emergency vehicles, including the lifeflight helicopter that arrived on scene, were on hand for the motorcycle/minivan accident near Rapid Refill.
