The area was purchased by the Town of Westford in 1971 with matching funds from a state grant. There is a half-mile trail and "life course" for more strenuous exercise. In the winter, the pond is ideal for ice skating. There is an unpaved parking area and picnic benches provided by Boy Scout Troop #159. The Jaycees spearheaded the development of the area. Since the Jaycees disbanded, the Rotary Club has maintained the area and trails.
