One Westford Academy Student Needs Your Help to Help Foster Children

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for Jan. 28, 2014 in Westford.

1. Learn Zentangle... learn about this art form (pictured) at Tranquility Yoga on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

2. The West Street Serenaders... will have a concert at the Blanchard School on Tuesday night at 7. 

#3. Can You Help?.... Westford Academy junior and former foster child Ashley Garcia (pictured center) has started a charity to help foster children who are forced to put their belongings in trash bags when they move. Her group, “A Bag of Hope” is aiming to raise $2,000 to purchase 50 duffel bags. More information is available on the group’s Go Fund Me site.

#4. The Stony Brook Fish and Game Association… is holding its Ice Fishing and Trout Tournament at 128 Lowell Rd. on Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

#5. Westford Youth Lacrosse is Coming…. Signups are coming, including a program for children aged 4 to 6 with softer balls and no contact where kids can learn the fundamentals of lacrosse.

Better known as the Fiddle Sticks program, it’s $25 for child, with more information on this and other age groups at http://www.westfordlax.org/
