Believe in Better Weather, Westford

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for Jan. 6, 2014

1. The Worst is Behind Us... as George Demetriou noted here on Patch a few days ago, we're getting more and more sunshine each day from here on out.

2. Speaking of Which... today's picture of the day comes from Oma Abbey, who took this picture of her lawn on Saturday. The current forecast from the Weather Channel for Westford for Monday as of Sunday afternoon predicts rain for most of the day.

3. State Rep Candidate Heading to the Java Room in Chelmsford... Louis Marino has announced he will be running for State Representative in the Second Middlesex District and will be holding an event on Jan. 18 at the Java Room on Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He's also announced events in Westford and Littleton with dates still to be determined.

Patch will have more on Marino's entrance into the race this fall in the next few days.

4. Build Your Kid's Soccer Skills!... Mill City FC held their first clinic on Sunday, and there are more in Tyngsboro on Jan. 12, 26 and Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23. More information at millcityfc.com

5. There's an Appointment-Only Flu Clinic... on Tuesday at town hall at noon for Westford residents.
