Westford Academy Pays Tribute to Ed Scollan
Westford Academy basketball legend Ed Scollan was on hand to unveil the school's court, now named after him after a unanimous Fall Town Meeting vote.
Just before Westford Academy's season opener against Waltham, Grey Ghost fans gathered to pay tribute to now retired Social Studies teacher and former basketball coach Ed Scollan, whose name was unanimously chosen by Town Meeting in October to grace the floor of Westford Academy's gymnasium.
Scollan began his career in 1976 as a teacher at Westford Academy, and was the basketball coach for 36 years, earning a 333-221 record along with three Dual County League titles and 20 postseason appearances before calling it quits last year.
