Westford Academy Bounces Colonials From Postseason

The Grey Ghosts advanced to the semifinal round while Acton-Boxborough was eliminated.

A strong Acton-Boxborough girls basketball season came to a close over the weekend as Westford Academy eliminated the locals from the Central Division 1 postseason.

The Grey Ghosts earned a 43-31 victory over A-B in the quarterfinal round, ending the Colonials' season at 15-7.

With the victory, Westford Academy advanced to the semifinal round, where the Grey Ghosts will square off against Algonquin on the hardwood of Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Acton-Boxborough had made it to the quarterfinals following a 14-6 campaign that earned them the No. 7 seed in the bracket. The Colonials snagged a 63-33 first round win over Doherty before Westford eliminated them.
