The fall sports season is just about over in Westford, culminating with the annual Thanksgiving football contest against Acton-Boxborough, which will be held this year at home at 10 a.m.
Here’s how some of the other Grey Ghosts squads did this season.
Boys’ Soccer – With a 5-9-3 record, the boys’ soccer team did not qualify for the postseason.

Girls’ Soccer – Following a 9-7-1 record, the WAGS as they’re known lost to Peabody in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss in the first round of the Division 1 North Sectionals.
Girls’ Volleyball – With an 8-9 record, the girls’ volleyball team did not qualify for the postseason.

Field Hockey – Despite a 19-2-1 record, with the third seed in the Division 1North Sectionals, the Ghosts couldn’t get past Acton-Boxborough, losing 3-2 in the Sectional Finals.
Cross Country – Dillon McGee was Westford Academy’s only participant in the state tournament for the boys, finishing 53rd with a time of 15:34.78.
On the girls’ side, Claire Widman had a time of 18:27.53, good enough for 51st.
Golf - During the regular season, the team won the Dual County League title. Westford Academy finished seventh overall with a final score of 326 strokes, led by Zack Miller’s 74.
