Gagne Named As New Head Football Coach at Westford Academy

The former offensive coordinator is the 11th head coach in the 67-year history of the program.

Westford Academy football players may still have seen Mr. Gagne in business class last year, but now they'll have a chance to see him once again on game day as well.

Filling the vacancy left last month by Rich McKenna's depature for Billerica, former Grey Ghost offensive coordinator and teacher Adam Gagne has been named as the 11th head coach in the 67-year history of Westford Academy football.

Last year Gagne left the Ghosts to serve as the head coach at Salem High School in New Hampshire and had spent five years as an assistant coach at Merrimack College following a career as a player at Haverhill High School and Bentley University.

“I am honored to become the head football coach at Westford Academy.  While I thoroughly enjoyed my time coaching at Salem, the opportunity to teach and coach at Westford Academy was something I had to take advantage of," said Gagne. "I am very thankful for this great opportunity and I am excited to get started."
