Buttercups and Jellyfish End In Tie

Good way to start off their season for both teams.  For the Green Slime Stacy Shackleton was a big contributor on the offensive end.  Defensively Jessica Sullivan and Alyssa Ingalls were aggressive under the boards.  For the Blue Angels Nicole Souza contributed with her speed and aggressiveness with the ball.  Liz Muller had many baskets along with Sarah Russell.  Both teams [played well.

The joyous Jellyfish and the Cheerful Cheetahs played a glorious game on Monday.  The jumping Jellies secured a leaping lead early.  But, as the game was coming to a close, the chipper Cheetahs made a crazy comeback. In the end, the Jellyfish stung them.  For the Jellies, daring Danielle Donovan took some super shots and tenacious Taylor Freud played amazingly aggressive and fouled out.  For the Cheetahs the Casey twins played well as well as Tianna Barrett taking sassy shots.  It was a pugnaciously played game.

This was a close game that was decided when Bianca Tardi hit free throws with 10 seconds remaining.  The Buttercups had scoring from 5 different players and the Wild Thornberries were led by Jillian Chrysikos with 16 points.  Rebecca Shepherd led the scoring for the Buttercups with 10 points.

It was a hard fought battle between the Wild Thornberries and the Blue Angels. Taryn and Jillian Chrysikos as well as Katie Fitzsimmons led the offense for the Thornberries.  Melanie Yellanki and Theresa Miceli fought well on defense.  But the Blue Angels fought back hard with Nicole Souza and Tasneem Bhinderwala leading their defense.  Leading the offense for the Angels were Amanda Brooks, Sarah Russell and Elise Paugh. With a double overtime the Thornberries were able to come out with a victory.

Slime Time Live dominates the fierce Tigers.  Stacy Shackleton led the Slime with 12 points and some strong defense. Alyssa Ingalls scored 6 points and lots of rebounds.  For the Tigers Tianna Habosian was the leading scorer with 7 points and Kathryn Olivier played outstanding defense.

The Blueberry Squirrels had a great game with a strong start and a strong finish. Casey Doremus led the team with 19 points.  Sam Kelly had 8.  Amy Cornelius had 5 and Kathryn Neuhardt chipped in 2.  Ashley Gauthier, Hannah Kullberg, Ally Rohlfs, Natalie Trainer and Hayley Veillette all were strong supporting players making great passes and playing strong defense.

 

The Green Giants were led by Jenna Klinka with 17 points.  Kyra Kruger had 8 points, Jordan Underwood 4 and both Kayla Flanagan and Molly Curley with 2.  Jackie Joncas and Danielle Reimer played great defense.  Excellent first game for both teams.

In an exciting double overtime game the Jellyfish and Buttercups went back and forth an ended in a tie.  The Jellyfish were led by Danielle Donavan’s 10 points with scoring help from Alaina Baker, Abigail Chirokas, Caroline Dolan and Taylor Freud.  For the Buttercups Kirsten Leary led the scoring with 16 points.  Michelle Thompson, Alexa Sullivan and Rebecca Holtom were playing shut down defense also for the Buttercups.

 

Pink Friday                          23

Neon Trees                        13

 

Pink Friday and Neon Trees played to a close 23-13 win by Pink.  Scoring for Pink Friday were Lauren Bushey with 4 and Meghan O’Neil with 3.  Neon Trees scoring leaders were Haley Macdonald with 6 and Christina Caviston with 4.  Brianna Mills (8 rebounds) and Courtney Kennedy led Pink Friday defense.  Neon Trees defensive stars were Liz McAleese and Caroline Rosinski.
