Pair of Westford Women Follow Their Dreams With New Interior Decorating Store

Just opened across from North Chelmsford's post office, Blush Home seeks to combine affordable quality furniture and art with interior decorating tips.

Two Westford women are taking their zeal for interior decorating to the next level with a new store in North Chelmsford.

Located on Kennedy Street across from the North Chelmsford Post Office just a few hundred feet away from Vinal Square, Wendy Ditcham and Trish Shea’s new store Blush Home aims to combine affordable quality items to spruce up any home with a series of classes intended to educate area residents on ways to improve any living space.

Although Ditcham and Shea already worked as independent interior decorating consultants while juggling family life, the combination of a longtime dream and what they saw as a lack of quality interior decorating stores in the area turned thoughts of opening a store into a reality.

“After doing design for a few years in the area and not having access for what we wanted for clients, we realized there was a huge gap in the market for certain things,” said Ditcham.

For the past several months, the two looked for locations to open a store throughout the area, ultimately settling on Kennedy Drive.

While the two would like to possibly open a store in Westford sometime in the future, the lack of available storefronts near their home coupled with the amount of space and the lease cost near Vinal Square made this particular location the best option for their needs.

Following a “soft” opening on Nov. 23, the pair hopes to have a grand opening in December as they will spend the next few weeks spreading the word about their store and developing an atmosphere they think can turn Blush Home into more than just a place where people come to buy things for their home.

“We hope people tell their friends once they leave here, that it’s not just a purchase of art or furniture, but an experience,” said Shea.

More information about Blush Home is available on the store’s website.
