Westford's Pecora Named Student of the Month

Senior is in the Carpentry/Cabinetmaking program; member of the Newspaper Club and involved in other activities.

Shannon Pecora of Westford has been selected as a Student of the Month for January at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Shannon, the daughter of Jim and Jeanie Pecora, is a senior in the Carpentry/Cabinetmaking program. She is a high-honors student and will represent the Class of 2014 as its salutatorian during Commencement Exercises this spring.
Shannon is in the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She is active in the school, as a member of the Newspaper Club and SkillsUSA, and is a Kick-Off Mentor for incoming freshmen. She also qualified for the John & Abigail Adams Scholarship by virtue of her high MCAS scores. She was also selected as Nashoba Tech’s nominee for the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators’ Outstanding Vocational Technical Student Award. She has been accepted into Gordon College, Bay Path College and Nyack College.
Shannon was nominated by two staff members.
English Instructor Bruce Sullivan wrote: “Shannon is an outstanding young woman who excels in and out of the classroom. In Advanced Placement English, Shannon is always prepared and performs well on all of our assessments.”
Continuing Education Director Joann Sueltenfuss wrote: “Shannon works at the front door and assists with reception for Continuing Education. Her quiet smile and diligence ensure that the programs runs smoothly and that students are admitted into the building in a timely and orderly fashion.”
