Westford Teachers Get New Contract

The Westford Education Association, the teachers' union for the town of Westford has agreed to a new contract, according to a report in The Lowell Sun.
According to the report, during the next three fiscal years, teachers will receive a 2.5 percent increase in their salaries, across various steps each year.
Union officials stated that they agreed to the contract because it worked to bring them in line with other communities
Last year, the union complained about the fact that teachers were not able to get step increases while working without a contract.
Earlier this year, there were rumors that there might be problems with the contract negotiations but neither WEA President Jason Humphrey nor Vice President Mary McCusker returned previous emails from Patch about the negotiations.
