School Goals Meeting Postponed After Lengthy Discussion

Superintendent of Schools Everett "Bill" Olsen didn't have a chance to talk about his goals with committee members.

A prolonged meeting of the Westford School Committee meeting led to the postponement of the discussion of the Superintendant's goals for the upcoming school year on Monday, the Lowell Sun reports.

"Superintendent of Schools Everett "Bill" Olsen didn't have a chance to talk about his goals with committee members, but shared them in the meeting packet. He outlined four for the year, including a goal to implement a data-analysis structure to quantify district data, as well as a promise to participate in 10 local cable-television programs, with at least five featuring students and staff," the article said.

The start of the public discussion portion of the meeting started with one resident complaining of being unable to reach Olsen by phone this week regarding a matter concerning her child.

"Chairman of the School Committee David Keele said the resident had out "her bear claws" and was criticizing the superintendent in a way Keele said could not be accurate," the article said.
