School Committee Praises Westford Academy Theater Arts, Urges Parents to See Les Mis

The following is Part One of a transcript of the Nov. 18, 2013 Westford School Committee Meeting. 

7:30 p.m. to 7:48 p.m.   (8:41 to 26:56)

Assistant Superintendent Christine Francis provided an upload on Westford Academy’s presentation of Les Miserables, an update on writing progress in schools, and School Committee chairman David Keele introduced the new School Committee student representatives.

The representatives provided updates on what was going on and School Committee member Margaret Murray was thrilled to see them and added she would also like to see Middle School members in the future.

School Committee member Arthur Benoit asked parents to come out to the Les Miserables showings, saying he had seen some seats open, and praised the Westford Academy Theater Arts program for their hard work.

Keele praised Benoit for his support of the program and suggested that Mike Towers of the Theater Academy Arts program may be able to come in sometime at a future meeting.

7:48 p.m. to 7:51 p.m. (26:56 to 29:06)

Keele noted an individual in the audience and asked what he was here for so he could be bumped to the front of the agenda if needed, but this was not necessary.

He then introduced a letter from “Team Imagination” at the Stony Brook School thanking the School Department for their work and thanked the writer of the letter.
