Is The Abbot School Too Crowded Compared to Other Schools?

Here's the data, tell us what you think.

Over their past few meetings, the Westford School Committee has heard from a variety of parents concerned over various issues relating to overcrowding at the Abbot School, ranging from too many students at one time in the school library to rowdy lunch rooms.

Although the board frequently goes by former School Committee member George Murray’s enrollment projections when planning out future years, unexpected circumstances such as 18 new fifth grade students moving into town this year and enrolling into the Abbot School can occasionally change even George's numbers.

But is the Abbot School significantly more crowded than other comparable schools in Westford in your view? Is redistricting needed? Westford Patch obtained enrollment data for the Abbot School as well as the town’s other Grade 3 to 5 Schools and here is what we found.  You can also see the discussions on video at the WestfordCAT website.
