Fiscal Responsibility: What Parents Need To Teach Kids About Money

Do your children consider you their own personal ATM? Do they understand how credit works? Do they have the skills they need to manage money? Join Westford Academy teacher Christine Cournoyer on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stony Brook Middle School auditorium for Fiscal Responsibility: What Parents Need To Teach Kids About Money. (The snow date for this presentation is Thursday, January 19, 2012.) Ms. Cournoyer is teaching a new personal finance class at the high school, and will share much of what she teaches with parents. It can be difficult to talk about financial matters, but it is imperative to give kids the tools they need to be fiscally responsible before they head off on their own. Money management is a vital life skill. Tickets for the event are $5 and are available at the door that night. The presentation, geared primarily toward parents of middle and high school students, is sponsored by the Westford Parent Connection.
