Are Westford's Parents Happy With Westford MCAS Scores?
A presentation on Monday night by Westford School Department assistant superintendent Christine Francis will discuss last year's Massachusetts Comprehensive Asssessment System test, better known to most as the MCAS.
In all categories, all of Westford's schools did significantly better than their peers on average elsewhere in the state.
However, performance was not equal throughout town, with some schools doing better than others.
You can check Francis' powerpoint on the town website, and we'll have a full transcript of the meeting coming soon.
However, in the meantime we were wondering on your thoughts: should Westford be doing better? Should it be proud on its results? Or both? Or is the answer more nuanced?
And what about the future? How will things like the new Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers test (PARCC) impact MCAS preparation?
