Abbot Students Choose Obama and Animated Supervillain

It was a close race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in the Abbot School mock election, but Steve Carrell's "Despicable Me" ran away with the election for the December Movie Night selection.

 

The results are in, and the Abbot School has chosen Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States, and Gru to be the next Emperor of the World.

According to Abbot School principal Vito Umbro, students elected Obama over Mitt Romney by a margin of 204 to 199.

Meanwhile, students also picked "Despicable Me" as their choice for the December Movie Night selection with 128 votes.

In the 2010 animated full-length feature, a supervillain voiced by Steve Carrell adopts a trio of orphans as part of a grand scheme, only to find that the four have become a family.

Other nominees included The Lorax (77 votes), Madagascar (69), Chimpanzee (51), Ice Age (49) and Up (31).
