Westford Fire and Rescue teams were called to Abbot Elementary School earlier today for a report of an injured student.
According to Vito Umbro, the principal of the school, a student was injured during physical education class on May 20, and was transported by the team to a local hospital.
"The student is doing well," he noted in an email, while also thanking the department for its response.
"Once again, the Westford Fire Department responded quickly and professionally," Umbro stated.
