Due to expected inclement weather including rain tonight and tomorrow, Abbot Elementary School has cancelled its Field Day event for 2014.
Principal Vito Umbro told parents this morning that the event would not be rescheduled.
"We thank all of those who were ready to volunteer on Friday," he stated in an email. "I would like to thank Mrs. Devarney and Mrs. Hurst for all of their planning and preparation for Field Day. It is unfortunate that we will not be able to have one this year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for understanding."
