Westford Has Agricultural Commission Vacancy

Position is used to promote farming in the community.

The Board of Selectmen in Westford is looking for applicants to serve on the town’s Agricultural Commission.

The board is looking for someone who is active in the farming community in town but isn't necessarily a commercial farmer. Commissioners serve in order to encourage “the pursuit of agriculture in the town,” according to officials, and will promote an agricultural-based economy and resolve any conflicts involving agriculture. The commissioners will also be called upon to educate the public about agriculture issues in the community.

Three members serve on the board for three years, two members serve for two years and then, three years after that. Three alternates are also named to serve one year each.
