Verizon FIOS Buildout

8:03 p.m. - Members of the Cable Advisory Committee come before the board saying that Verizon has said it is on schedule to build out their FIOS network, and this has happened for years.

8:07 p.m. - The presentation concludes saying they have not met the requirements of their license, which Selectman Kelly Ross adds holds a penalty.

They add that during winter, Verizon cannot build further.

8:09 p.m. - Cable Advisory Committee member Jim Silva says that penalties can be $300 per day, up to $20,000.

K9 Video Camera and Usage

8:13 p.m. - Chief Thomas McEnaney tells the board that the K9 Video Camera has not been delivered yet and there is no additional liability to the town as long as the fourth amendment is followed.

He adds that the Westford Police Department is one of only a few accredited police departments in the state, and says that the camera is a tool that will help public safety, canine safety and officer safety.

8:15 p.m. - Ross reads a letter from Steven Sadowski saying that Sadowski is not against the camera, but is concerned about violations of the fourth amendment that could be made with the camera.

McEnaney reiterates the department will follow the U.S. Constitution and be very detailed when he will use the camera.

8:18 p.m. - Questions are asked on who can use the camera, when the camera will be used, and if the camera can be loaned.

McEnaney says that some procedures are not public information, but search and seizure procedures are public information and is open to answer questions from the public on the subject.

Bob Shaw asks about fundraising for the camera.
