Governor Patrick Anounces $73 Million For Affordable Housing Projects, Including One in Westford

The announcement was part of a larger $1.4 billion initiative that stretches across 17 communities.

Governor Patrick has announced the state will provide over $73 million for 1,145 affordable housing units in Massachusetts, including an addition to the homes on Farmer Way leading to the Stony Brook School.

Along with Chelmsford, 16 other communities have received resources and tax credits as part of a larger piece of legislation signed by Patrick that provides $1.4 billion over five years for 11 capital funding programs related around housing, particularly homeownership, homelessness, and residences for poor veterans and people with disabilities.

“Creating or preserving affordable housing helps to generate jobs, grow local businesses and strengthen our communities” said Governor Deval Patrick. “Government’s role is to help people help themselves, and sustainable affordable housing will create growth and opportunity in our communities that will last for generations to come.”
