Westford Fire Department Gets New Member

Westford Fire Department recruit Brian Baker joined the 203rd graduating class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy's Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program last week.

According to State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan, the forty-five day program is designed to provide new firefighters with basic skills to perform their jobs safely and effectively, providing training on topics ranging from environmental emergencies to elevator rescues to public education.

Baker was one of 24 graduates from 20 departments across the state to graduate the program.
