While the officer was en route to the call, the employee called again, saying they thought the gun had an orange tip, leading the officer en route to believe it was a fake gun.

Upon arrival, the individual with the gun was identified as a child dressed as a soldier for Halloween. The gun was confirmed as fake.

The officer advised the child and the child’s mother not to wave a gun in a crowded area, as it could be construed as a real gun accidentally.

The fake gun itself was destroyed.

Oct. 29, 12:00 p.m. – A woman at a hotel in town called police after a dispute with staff. The woman told police that she was from Chicago and had paid extra to have a dog stay in her room. However, the woman was told that if she left her room, the dog could not stay alone in the room.

The officer on the call informed the woman that the dispute was a civil matter and the town could not take possession of the dog unless it was attacking someone or was being mistreated, which was not the case.
