Man Allegedly Sucker Punched at VFW After Insulting Several Other People

The following are reports from the Westford Police Department.

Oct. 11, 4:27 p.m. - An abandoned motor vehicle was discovered at Cumberland Farms on Littleton Road.

Employees of the store helped push the car into a parking space after its owner could not start the car and it was blocking other vehicles.

Three days later, the owner returned and the vehicle was towed.

Oct. 14, 3:17 p.m. -  One mother reported that her son's iPhone had been stolen from a locker at Westford Academy after school earlier that week. The phone was reportedly worth $550.

Dec. 6, 6:28 p.m. - A solicitor on Blakes Hill Road was stopped by an officer for alleged soliciting without a permit.

The solicitor produced a Massachusetts State License for Hawkers/Peddlers that expired in Nov. 2013, although the license also stated that it was subject to local laws regarding solicitation and that a police officer "shall arrest the owner of the license if in violation of the license." 

Although the officer did not arrest the solicitor, he advised him that he was in violation of town bylaws due to a lack of a permit and was told criminal prosecution could result if he solicited without a local permit again.

Dec. 8, 12:30 a.m. - Police were dispatched to the VFW on Dunstable Road for reports of a disturbance.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officer on this call met a man in a green sweatshirt with a cut over his eye.

Green sweatshirt man said another individual at the VFW sucker punched him due to a fight over a girl, while the individual who allegedly threw the sucker punch told everyone in the room "that they suck" despite being asked to stop and he just got tired of it. 

The man with the green sweatshirt then left with his girlfriend and allegedly waited outside the VFW, leading the other man to call the police.

According to the police report, no one involved in the incident was intoxicated. A friend drove the man with the green sweatshirt home.
