Funeral Items Reported Stolen From Car in Town Hall Parking Lot

The following information was supplied by the Westford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 19, 4:00 p.m. – One man reported to police that items relating to the burial arrangements of his ailing mother were stolen from the town hall parking lot several days earlier.

Stolen items included a check books, paperwork and a leather satchel.

The area in question is under 24-hour camera surveillance, but by the time the man contacted police, earlier video records had been removed from police systems.

Oct. 23, 7:15 a.m. – A resident on Groton Road reported that their motor vehicle was broken into the previous night.

The only thing the car owner found missing was an iPod worth $100, although he said the car had been “rifled through.”

Another resident said that her car had also been broken into, with her husband saying he spotted an unfamiliar lighter in the front passenger’s seat.

A wallet was stolen along with a debit card, a credit card, a license to carry firearms, a $5 bill and sunglasses.

Another car nearby was reported with items missing a few minutes later, with the following items stolen from that car

-          A back pack

-          A laptop computer worth $1,000 and charger worth $300

-          A $10 bill

-          Gift cards

-          Electronic cigarettes

-          External hard drive

-          Prescription glasses

A separate jeep on the property of the third call was also missing woofers.

Merrimac, MA police later called the second resident, saying her wallet had been found with all contents left inside and there were no activities on the debit or credit cards.

Oct. 23, 8:30 a.m. – One guest of a hotel in town called police to report property damage to her vehicle in the hotel’s parking lot.

According to her reports, her vehicle was keyed overnight, with damages estimated at $500.
