Firefighters Respond to Calls at Westford Academy, Abbot School, McDonald's
The following are excerpts from the Westford Fire Department log for the week of Sept. 8 to 15, 2013
Sept. 9, 10:30 a.m. – Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Lowell Road. Upon arrival, the alarm had gone silent, which was determined to be from low batteries.
No carbon monoxide threat was detected.
Sept. 10, 2:21 p.m. – Five units were required in response to a natural gas leak at Westford Academy.

The leak came from a valve that was supposed to have been shut off a day earlier.
Crews checked the school, with National Grid arriving to complete the shut off of the valve.

Sept. 11, 9:41 a.m. – Trouble alarms were detected in the Abbot School Waste Treatment Plant. However, upon further inspection, they were accidentally triggered by an electrician in the area.
Sept. 13, 3:56 a.m. – Almeria Circle was the scene of a carbon monoxide malfunction, which was determined to be due to the age of the carbon monoxide detector.
No threat was found.
Sept. 14, 12:17 p.m. – Several trouble alarms went off at McDonald’s on Littleton Road, which was determined to be coming from a malfunctioning relay in the fire alarm panel.
