Elderly Man in North Street Crash, Reportedly Can't Remember What Happened

The following information was supplied by the Westford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 20, 4:34 p.m. – Police responded after an elderly driver of a sedan hit with a large truck near the intersection of North Street and North Main Street.

The sedan was heading southbound on North Street and had serious front end damage, with the officer indicating that it hit the large truck as it was in the eastbound lane of North Main Street, with moderate damage to that vehicle.

Although initial reports indicated that the driver of the large truck was injured, neither driver told the officer on the scene that they were injured.

The elderly man was unable to remember what happened, frequently changing topic of conversation when talking to the officer on the call as though he was confused, although he was not intoxicated. He was issued a citation relating to the crash.

Nov. 27, 12:57 p.m. – A woman called police to complain about a foreign sounding man calling to say  there was a warrant out for her arrest, but everything could be cleared up for $500.

The woman began to ask questions of the caller, who then immediately hung up.

Police attempted to contact the foreign individual’s number , but a woman answered, refusing to answer any questions.

The number itself is linked to several other comparable reported scam attempts, with similar calls being reported by residents in November and October.

Nov. 29, 9:12 p.m. – A woman reported the theft of a $500 phone at Cumberland Farms. Officers indicated they would check security camera footage, but the phone was discovered next to a nearby dumpster before this occurred.
