Deer Impacts Police Cruiser on Depot Road

Dec. 1, 2:40 p.m. - Two iPhones and a GPS system was stolen from an unlocked motor vehicle on Hyacinth Drive. A few hours later, there was another theft of items totalling approximately $100 from a vehicle on Patten Road.

Dec. 31, 8:25 p.m. - Police searched Tyngsboro Road after reports of illegal fireworks.

Jan. 2, 7:38 p.m. - An officer driving northbound on Depot Road reported to dispatch that a deer jumped out in front of his vehicle, dying on impact.

According to the officer's reports, the deer was attempting to cross the road when it spotted traffic coming southbound, looking to return across the road to avoid that vehicle, freezing in front of the police cruiser, which was travelling at approximately 30 m.p.h.

The officer tried to swerve out of the way, but could not avoid the animal, with damage to the right front headlight of the vehicle, but no significant impairment to the vehicle's drivability.

The deer was moved to the side of the road for removal.

Jan. 6, 1:09 a.m. - A damaged vehicle near the intersection of Acton and Old road was discovered to have a lapsed registration.

The vehicle was towed and the driver was issued a citation.

Jan. 7, 3:54 p.m. - Kevin Stuczynski, 20, of Amble Road in Chelmsford was arrested on charges of alleged speeding, posession of liquor by a person under 21, and intent to distribute class B,C and D drugs.
