Dad Without Parental Custody Picks Up Child From Westford Academy

The following are entries from the Westford Police log for June 13 and 14.

Wednesday, June 13

2:44 p.m. – Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Boston Road. No injuries were reported, no citations were given.

Thursday, June 14

5:25 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported on the corner of Littleton Road and Lan Drive near . There were no injuries.

Lan Drive was also the scene of what was described as a suspicious motor vehicle at 9:08 p.m., which police investigated.

Follow Up

June 1, 9:18 a.m. – Police were dispatched to the ice cream stand at for a report of loud music from an anonymous party. Upon arrival, the officer on the scene could only hear the bells and whistles of skee ball and pinball machines, with no loud music coming from the rear of the ice cream stand of the nearby batting cages.

June 8, 11:34 a.m. – A father who no longer had parental custody of his two children was spotted at picking up his child according to Westford Academy administration staff.

The officer on this incident talked to the mother and indicated that if the father had informed her that he was doing this, it would have been fine. From there, the officer found the father and informed him that he did not have permission to pick up his child, to which the father replied “Who said I can’t pick up my own daughter?”, adding “You can come and get her then, because I’m too busy,” after informing him that he did not have custody of the children and that the school had no record of him in relation to the student.

From there, the mother was notified of the situation along with Westford Academy officials for future notice.

No charges were filed in relation to the incident.
