@Judy...I know what it's like to want to know if they are ok. I had a head-on with an out of control moped driver on MV years ago. He was unconscious and I had no idea if he made it or not. I called the hospital and they wouldn't give me any info due to privacy issues. I called the police dept. and the same thing. I couldn't sleep that night because I didn't know if he was dead or alive (although it wasn't my fault, it haunted me because I was so worried about him). BUT....the police dispatcher called me back hours later and told me that he wanted me to know he was sorry and miraculously he'd been released from the hospital that night and was ok. I was so grateful for that closure. Try the police dispatcher. Hopefully he is ok and you will get some answers that will help you too have closure. Let us know what you find out.

According to the TV news the driver or a crew man was on the street and Sgt. Proia pulled him to safety from the rolling recycle truck, as it had bad brakes.
