Bottle of Rum Found Inside Car Involved in Carlisle Road Crash

Jan. 25, 11:16 p.m. – Officers received reports of ATVs and a large bonfire on frozen portions of Forge Pond. The fire was extinguished and the ATV operators were talked to by Littleton Police due to their location on the other side of the pond.

Feb. 3, 5:54 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Carlisle Road for a motor vehicle accident to discover the vehicle had veered off into the woods during snowy conditions.

While the driver of the vehicle was not injured and not inebriated, the vehicle’s registration had lapsed.

A second officer discovered a bottle of rum in the vehicle, which was confiscated, but the driver, who was under 21, did not know it was in the car.

The vehicle’s owner was redacted from the report and the driver received three citations, also all redacted.

Feb. 4, 9:14 p.m. – One motorist told police that New Hampshire-based flooring company truck veered into the opposite lane of traffic near Ace Hardware on Groton Road as it was heading west.

An officer spotted the vehicle near the intersection of Groton, Depot and Tyngsboro roads, but did not see any erratic operation after 30 seconds of observation.

However, near United U, the vehicle did appear to swerve according to the officer’s report, and the officer stopped the vehicle.

The driver of the truck said the swerve was due to him playing with his radio, and according to the report, he did not appear impaired.

The driver was issued two citations not specified in the report.
