Another Squirrel Causes Fire, This Time on Dunstable Road

The following are excerpts from the Westford Fire Department log.

Dec. 6, 1:16 a.m. - A homeowner on River Street called for help after his carbon monoxide detector went off.

Ventilation was required as carbon monoxide was detected, the homeowner told firefighters that he had just removed ashes from a wood stove in the home.

Dec. 8, 11:04 a.m. - Following a similar incident a few weeks earlier, firefighters discovered that another squirrel had started a small yard fire by chewing on power lines, this time on Dunstable Road. 

Dec. 10, 2:39 p.m. - Firefighters responded to reports of illegal burning on Flagg Road. 

Upon arrival, it was discovered that construction material was burning in a yard. The home owner was informed of burning regulations and the fire was extinguished.

Dec. 15, 5:32 p.m. - The odor of natural gas was detected at a home on Graceful Way. The home's stove was determined to be the cause of the problem. No damages were reported.
