Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds

According to the USPS website, they do not have an official motto as such, but in the past two months, our new carrier has certainly proven it is not his motto.

In December, we had several days without mail.  One snowy afternoon I came home from work to make sure my mailbox was shoveled out.  I was working on the base of my driveway when the mail carrier went barreling by at a speed I did not even know his truck was capable of and was certainly not in line with the speed limit on a good day on our road.

A few weeks ago, we put an insurance renewal form into the mail that needed to be postmarked the next day.  When I came home, the flag was still up, and the next morning I had to drive over to the post office to send it.

Several of my neighbors are also having the same experience ever since the new mail carrier replaced the old one.  I mentioned this at the post office, but they said if it is snowy, they call the trucks in. (This was in reference to the day he flew by me like a bat out of H-E-double hockey stick).

I am a little disappointed that we were skipped again this Saturday.  I was really looking forward to receiving the Netflix DVD to watch while eating popcorn by the fire.

Are we at the point where I need to change how I subscribe to luxuries like Netflix or how I pay my bills in order to work around a sudden change in consistency of service by the USPS?

I want my last postal carrier back as she was perfect in every way. We went 14 years without a day missed an now this.

Is anyone else other than my neighbors and I seeing spotty service?
