OBITUARY: Eugene Goetz (1939 ~ 2012)

Mr. Eugene Frank Martin Goetz, 73, of Chelmsford, MA formerly of Westford, MA died Monday, December 10, 2012 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA after a long illness.

He was married to Mrs. Geraldine Goetz with whom he celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on November 3, 2012.

He was the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Goetz. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, NJ with the class of 1958. He graduated from Framingham Optical School; where he received an Associate Degree in Opticianry.

He served with the United States Navy during Cuban Missile Crisis.
For over 25 years, he owned and operated Westford Eye Care of Westford, MA retiring in 2009. He previously worked at R.C.A, Kodak, and Space Sciences on the Apollo Project.

He was a member of Grace Community Church of Chelmsford, MA.
Eugene was a member of the Nashua Rotary, and a Member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Besides his wife Geraldine, he is survived by two sons, Erich Goetz and wife Tracy of Lowell, MA, and Ari Goetz of Denver, CO and a step son Christopher Kelly of Newport ,NH and a step daughter Kate Kelly of Chelmsford, MA, and mother in law Lucille Dufresne St.Cyr of Lawrence , MA and sister in law Gail Goetz of Jupiter, FL and sister Elizabeth Myers and brother–in-law Raymond Myers of FT. Myers, FL and Grandfather to Thomas and Cody Kelly and many nephew and nieces.

He was the brother of the late Erich Goetz of Jupiter, FL who died April 2010.
Visiting hours Thurs. 3 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Fri. at 10AM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA (pictured). Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
