Former Owner of Bunny's Beauty Shop Died on Monday

Marion “Bunny”  (Johnstone) Swanson, 92, a lifelong resident of Westford, passed away on December 4, 2013 at the Westford House Nursing Home where she resided for the last five years and was known as the official greeter.  She was the wife of the late Varnum H. Swanson who died in 1981.

She was born in Westford on September 19, 1921 and was a daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (McKnight) Johnstone.

Prior to her retirement, she was the owner of Bunny’s Beauty Shop in Westford for over 50 years.  Bunny was an avid baker and was famous for her delicious cookies.  She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Bunny is survived by her three loving daughters, Sherry Gauthier and her husband Robert of Westford, Shirley Singhal and her husband Om of Ormond Beach, FL, and Wendy Healy of Westford, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, son-in-law Brian Healy of Westford, and two sisters, Janet Nigon of MD, and Anne Johnstone of Westford.  She was the sister of the late Doris Grochmal and Thomas Johnstone.
