MCC Foundation Awards Celebrity Forum Scholarships

The Middlesex Community College Foundation recently awarded scholarships for outstanding academic achievement to 20 Middlesex students at MCC’s annual Celebrity Forum.

 

Amin Gholizadeh, of Lexington, was awarded the Debra Chemelli-Evans Scholarship. Gholizadeh is currently enrolled in MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program. He is planning on transferring to a four-year institution in the fall. The Chemelli-Evans Scholarship was established in memory of the daughter of William Chemelli, member and former president of the MCC Board of Trustees.

Emmanuel Appiah, of Lowell, is planning to transfer to UMass Lowell in the fall to study biology.

 

Rebecca Brill Weitz, of Bedford, recently graduated from MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program. She is planning to attend Connecticut College in the fall.

 

Miranda Cashman, of Concord, graduated from MCC’s Physical Sciences program. This fall she will attend UMass Amherst to study geology.

 

Zena Casteel, of Waltham, recently graduated from MCC’s Life Sciences program. She plans to attend UMass Amherst in the fall to study evolutionary biology.

 

Anthony Chhan, of Lowell, was enrolled in MCC’s Computer Science program. He is planning to transfer to UMass Lowell to continue his studies in the fall.

 

Gechlang Chhim, of Lowell, recently graduated from MCC’s Business Administration Transfer program. Chhim plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall to study business and accounting.

 

Briani Chioidi, of Wakefield, was enrolled in MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program. She transferred to UMass Lowell for the spring semester and will continue her education there in the fall.

 

Anastasia Dickenson, of Lexington, graduated from MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program.

 

 

Joohee (Judy) Hyung, of Billerica, recently graduated from MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program. She plans to attend UMass Amherst in the spring of 2015.

 

Lindsey Lizotte, of Dracut, is a current student at MCC. She will be returning in the fall to continue her studies in diagnostic medical sonography.

 

Amanda Lopez, of Lawrence, was enrolled in MCC’s Life Sciences program. Lopez plans to transfer to UMass Lowell in the fall to study exercise physiology.

 

Danielle Lucibello, of Tewksbury, recently graduated from MCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program. She plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall to study English.

 

Derek Min, of Sudbury, recently graduated from MCC. He plans to attend Boston University in the fall to study English and history.

 

Robert Morales, of Lowell, was enrolled in MCC’s psychology program. He is planning to transfer to UMass Lowell in the fall to continue his studies.

 

Dennis Murphy, of Wilmington, recently graduated from MCC’s Global Studies program. He plans to attend a four-year university in the fall to continue his studies in international relations.

 

Karen Pruy, of Waltham, is currently enrolled in MCC’s Elementary Education Transfer program. She will be returning to Middlesex in the fall.

 

Brandon Schwartz, of Dracut, is enrolled in MCC’s Criminal Justice Transfer program. He is planning to transfer to UMass Lowell in the fall to major in criminal justice.

 

Alysha Shearer-Cantrell, of Tewksbury, recently graduated from MCC’s Psychology Program. She is planning to continue her studies at UMass Boston in the fall.

 

Andrew Toufas, of Medford, recently graduated from MCC’s Computer Science program.  He plans to transfer to UMass Lowell to continue his studies.
