What is Retinoblastoma and why?
We would like you to meet Justin. Justin lost his left eye to Retinoblastoma, a rare cancer that attacks young children between birth and five years old. Children with this cancer are instructed to acquire glasses that would shield the remaining good parts of their eyes. However, Justin’s mother came to find that these glasses are not covered under insurance. In efforts to help others cover the cost of the glasses, Justin’s mother created an organization, "Specs For Little Heroes", http://www.specsforlittleheroes.com/ , which in two years has bought over 60 pairs of glasses for children with Retinoblastoma.
For a senior project, we (Meghan Hurley, Megan Walter and Sage Riddick), along with our fantastic teacher (Jennifer Girardi) have decided to support this incredible organization. Many talented Westford Academy students along with local artists have donated artwork to the event. This artwork will be available for you at a great price and support this great cause!
ALL proceeds go to “Specs for Little Heroes”, a foundation that helps children with RETINOBLASTOMA afford glasses that help protect their eyes from injury.
