Governor Patrick Makes World Series Bet With Governor of Missouri
The two governors made a bet of goods from their home states on Game 1 of the World Series.
In a press release on Tuesday night, Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick has issued a challenge to Missouri governor Jay Nixon in advance of the upcoming World Series Game 1 between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.
If the Red Sox win, Governor Nixon will donate a four-pack of Cardinal Cream Soda from Fitz's Bottling Company, a box of chocolates from Bissinger's Chocolates and an assortment of Italian Baked Goods.
If the Cardinals win, Governor Patrick will donate Clam Chowder from Legal Sea Foods, a variety of Polar beverages and baked goods from the Dancing Deer Bakery in Boston.
"I thank the producers of these fine Massachusetts products but I don't think my friend Governor Nixon will get to enjoy them," said Governor Patrick. "The team, the fans and the Commonwealth are ready for a great series with St. Louis -- and a great victory.”
