Understanding Self-Injurious Behavior
Want To Better Understand Self-Injurious Behavior?
It's no secret that kids today are under a tremendous amount of stress. Whether it's in the classroom, on the playing field, on the job, or at home, adolescents feel pressured to be the best. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Many kids find healthy ways to relieve the stress. But others turn to self-injurious behaviors -- including but not limited to cutting -- as a means of relieving the pressure. Join Sue Hanly, RN, NCSN, and Dianne Walsh, LICSW, who will discuss the symptoms, causes, and treatment of self-injurious behaviors Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stony Brook Middle School. (Snow date is Tuesday, February 25.) If you are concerned about a young person in your life -- or you want to educate yourself on this important topic -- join Sue, Dianne, and the Westford Parent Connection on February 4. The event is free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
